It is a versatile organic compound widely used in surfactants (emulsifier, dispersant), metalworking fluids (corrosion inhibitor, lubricant), textile printing and dyeing (refining agent, dyeing assistant), cosmetics (emulsifier, antioxidant), as well as a pH regulator, gas absorbent, and pharmaceutical intermediate.
